A week of screen prints
I've been printing poppies again. The photo on the right is what the mask looked like - three little poppies in a row. From memory this was about the 8th print off the newspaper paper mask. The first few prints I did were red and yellow, slowly mixing to orange. I did these prints onto a very fine lawn and a lot of the paint went straight through to the cover on my printing pad. The photo on the right is that piece of cloth after I had made 4 prints. I think I like it better than the original prints.
These two were a bit of fun to make. Firstly I printed the pomegranates in opaque white onto black linen and then, while the screen was still on the cloth I "finger painted" colour onto the white. I'm really very pleased with the way they came out. The white paint made them very hard to photograph.
I printed these two last night, at midnight! I cut these stencils from a piece of clear contact. and then tuck it to the back of my screen!
Over the weekend I'm going to play with some of my fabric dyes and my poppies.
Is it legal to have this much fun creating a mess in my sewing room? I do hope it is because I don't want to stop!
