Oh dear! Sorry dear reader, I'm afraid Face book has distracted me yet again but she is very fickle and has decided I couldn't post photos tonight. Well - I thought - I'm sure Blogger and I can fix that.
What I want to show you is a photo of the end result of my first Indigo vat.
I threw in (very gently) some white cotton, cotton lawn and some rust dyed cotton. I also added a couple of pieces of cotton that I had previously dyed and I didn't like. Some silk went into the vat and finally a piece of cotton velvet.
This after they were pulled out of the vat - they are sitting quietly oxidizing!
Here are the results
I love the results. I can't wait to play with them.
While I'm here I thought you might like to see the latest art quilt I have made. It is called A Light on History.
It is inspired by one of my trips to MONA - the Museum of Old and New Art. The museum is about 500 meters down the road from my house!

Those dyed fabrics look great. Love the poppyseed one - they make me think of helicopter apples. lol I'm sure there's a children's book there. hehe
And your Light challenge quilt is fantastic! But then, you already know how I feel about it. :)
