A Sneak Peak - Quilt Challenge 2010

I suddenly realised on Wednesday that I only  have a month to make my first Quilt Challenge 2010 quilt!  EEK!

So I started work!  Out came the 9 inch nails and the fine steel wool and the vinegar!  Then the tea bags, iron sulfate and caustic!

Here are some of the fabrics I have rust dyed (how much fun is that?).  I still haven't made up my mind which rust method I like.  The tea bag method is fast but the vinegar method gives stunning results!

This quilt is going to grow like toppsie!  I can tell!  My idea is evolving as I work and it feels good!

I've thrown in some hand dyes as well (the green bits)!  And there is some rust dyed cheescloth as well.  Out on the back lawn there is some hand painted cheesecloth drying.  It looks good too!

I think I know where I'm going!

Any feedback would be really really good!

Love your colour scheme, fabric and textures, Sally! Looking forward to seeing it finished. I just know it is going to be another interesting article! The cheesecloth makes an interesting contrast. Good luck with your quilt.

well it looks like you're off to a great start. The color combo is wonderful, can't wait to see it when it's finished!
