I was cruising around my blog list the other day and I came across some photos of Canada Geese! I wish I could remember which blog it was!
I've loved Canada Geese since the 70's. My ex and I were given a Benjamin Chee Chee print as a wedding present. (needless to say, I don't have it anymore).
I've been thinking, on and off, that I should make a Benjamin Chee Chee wall quilt at some time! I wonder if I would need to get permission from his Estate! Who would own the rights to those images?
They are such simple lines but the most amazingly emotive images.

Had a quick search on Benjamin and there seems to be no 'copyright' on his prints. At artfact.com there are a number of prints listed with their owners and there appears to be more than one copy of the same print. I would suggest that you give reference to him (1944 - 1977) imbedded within your quilt, yes??
I can see you create an absolutely awesome quilt from his geese!
Do it! It would be great. :)
Had to do a search to check his work. Beautiful line work. Saw some cross stitch kits. Quilting would be so much better. lol
I imagine you saw the Canadian Geese on my blog. I went by the lakes today and there were many, many fishing families with tents and canopies to get out of the sun, but no geese. Guess they don't like the commotion of all those people. Maybe they will come back mid-week. Fun to see how much they grow in such a short time. Love, Del

All copyrights belong to the artists estate or heirs for 50 years after the artists death. Canadian law. Everything Chee Chee ever created is copyrighted till 2027. Artists do not need to mark copyright on the art, the image whether original or printed is the sole property of the artist no matter what.
Hi Sally. I'm a big fan of Chee Chee as well, and I've been wanting to use some of his art as inspiration for a logo and website. I see in this post above that it is copyright by law, but I'm still wondering if there is a way to use his art and give him credit. Hope someone can answer the question.
