Pears and Pomegranates

A few weeks ago I posted this photo.  I was playing with some lino prints and gelatin plate monoprints.

Well this is how it looks now!  I'm about half way through quilting it.

I've painted the pears a little and used a couple of thermofaxes to add some detail.

I made a thermofax of a list of the varieties of pears that are grown in Tasmania and then, just for fun a drew a little pear with wings.  I printed the thermofax twice.  The first print in red and the second time I overprinted in white  I think I really like the result.

I quilted leaves around these pears and then hand painted just a few.
I'd love to know what you think.

I love the way the lettering shadows and also the way the birds extend out of the main images.

looks really good Sally.
I like the backgrounds and the writing is very effective.
The little 'flying pear' is cute, considering if anyone on the 'mainland' eats a Tasmanian pear there is a good chance it was airlifted out.
Would make a neat logo for a company.
